Security State Bank Online Bill Payment Disclosure

HOW IT WORKS: Security State Banks Bill Payment service allows you to make payments via your PC. The payments are automatically charged to the checking account you designate. This eliminates the need to write a check or mail your bill. Any account that requires two or more signatures to withdraw funds may not be designated as a bill payment account.

LOGGING ON TO BILL PAY: To access the Bill Pay feature, you will need your Internet Banking Access ID and Password. These were provided when you applied for Internet Banking or will be sent to you after we receive your application for Internet Banking.

PAYEE LIST: The term payee means the person or entity to whom you wish a bill payment to be directed. You will need to set up your list of payees the first time you utilize the system and keep this information up to date. You must provide sufficient information about a payee to permit us to properly direct a payment and permit the payee upon receipt of a payment to identify you as the payment source. You do this by completing the required fields in the online payee list which include the payees name, address, phone number and your account number from a billing statement or invoice. By providing Security State Bank with the names and account information for each payee to whom you wish to direct payment, you authorize the bank to follow the payment instructions entered online.

Payees must have a valid mailing address in the United States. We will not make bill payments to companies or individuals located in Canada, Mexico or other foreign countries. We reserve the right to refuse to pay any payee designated by you. If we do so, we will notify you promptly.

EXCLUDED PAYEES: Payment of federal, state, county or city taxes is prohibited. Also, payments will not be made to any collection agency or court-directed payments.

SINGLE PAYMENT: You may schedule a payment to be made one time to a payee. Examples would be payments for your utility bill or phone bill.

RECURRING PAYMENT: You may schedule payments to payees to be automatically initiated in a fixed amount on the same payment date periodically (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) An example would be your mortgage payment. SCHEDULED PAYMENT DATE: When Security State Bank acts on a payment instruction, you authorize us to charge your designated checking account and remit funds on your behalf on the scheduled payment date. You should set the date so the payment has time to process and get to the payee on time. To avoid incurring a finance charge from the payee, you must schedule a payment sufficiently in advance of the due date. You understand and agree that Security State Bank is not responsible for the timely delivery of mail or the improper transmission or handling of payments such as the failure of the payee to properly post a payment to your account. For this reason, it is recommended that all payments be scheduled to transact at least 7 business days before the actual due date stated on your billing statement or invoice, not the late date or a date in the grace period. The cut off time for entering payments is 5:00 p.m. (CST). If the scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment will be made the following business day.

AVAILABLE FUNDS: Funds will be withdrawn from your checking account on the scheduled payment date or on the following business day as indicated above. We will not be obligated to make a payment on the scheduled payment date unless your designated account has sufficient collected funds or if the transaction would exceed the credit limit of your linked overdraft protection account. You are responsible for any applicable overdraft charges we may impose.

FEES AND CHARGES: In consideration of our making Security State Bank Bill Pay services available to you, at this time, there are no fees for accessing the Online Bill Pay Service. This does not include regular fees associated with your bank accounts (if applicable) as stated in your deposit agreements with us.

CHANGE OR CANCEL INSTRUCTIONS: To change a scheduled bill payment, you must access your account online and edit the transaction by 5:00 p.m. (CST) on or before the scheduled payment date. To cancel a scheduled bill payment, you must access your account online and delete the transaction by no later than 5:00 p.m. (CST) on or before the scheduled payment date.

STOP PAYMENTS: Once funds have been debited from your checking account, you will not be able to stop the bill payment. If you have made an error with the payment, you will need to contact the payee to resolve any payments or questions.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY: You are responsible for all bill payments you authorize using Online Banking. If you permit other persons access to your username and password, you are responsible for any transactions they authorize from your deposit accounts. You should notify Security State Bank immediately if you believe any of your accounts have been accessed or your password has been used without your permission.
