SSB in the Community

The Bank Directors and Employees take pride in the volunteer work that we do in our community. Each year the bank is proud to sponsor numerous events and activities, donate to local organizations, and host our own community events. Below are just a few of the many many ways Security State Bank gives back to our community.

Caring for our Community

  • Security State Bank is a major supporter of the United Way of Northeastern Minnesota.  Every year not only do employees of Security State Bank donate, but they also participate in nearly every event.  From Buddy Backpacks, to Lunch Buddy Mentors, to Renegade Trail Runs.
  • September is Minnesota Bankers Association Community Impact Month, our favorite month to get involved.  Some of the ways our employees contribute include:
    • Adopt-A-Highway
    • Providing pizza lunch for our local Police and Fire Departments to show our appreciation.
    • Partnering with McDonald's to give away free treats.
    • Donating blood to Memorial Blood Center.
    • Customer Appreciation Day!  We have free popcorn, cookies, & even gelato served in our lobby.
    • Employees donate every Friday in September and throughout the year to wear jeans.  Donations are given to various charities such as Salvation Army, United for Veterans, Animal Shelters, Food Shelf, & Angel Fund, etc..

Serving our Community

  • Security State Bank is also a member of the Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce.  Many employees have served on its Board of Directors over the years.  We donate to every event and participate when possible too.  Look for our float in the Jubilee Parade each year.
  • We love visiting with our customers, so any chance we can you will find us at a curling event, golf scramble, Business After Hours, or even bean bag tournaments.  Hope to see you there!
